International
Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that everyday 6300 people die as a result of
occupational accidents or work related diseases and some374 million non-fatal work-related injuries and illnesses occur each year and millions of revenue losses
sustained to businesses due to directly and indirectly associated costs. So every year 28th of April is celebrated as World day
for Safety and Health at Work to raise awareness and promote culture for
occupational Health & safety at work.
As an employee we all have some rights and
responsibilities for our own safety and safety of others around us. So if we
came across an unsafe act we have the right to stop and report it, which can be
done keeping in mind following order;
1.
STOP- The unsafe practice
2.
INFORM- The relevant department
3.
Report- On H2H (platform for
registering incidents)
Similarly we have right to refuse on carrying out an activity
involving unsafe work practice.
For our organization, employees are the biggest
assets and we believe that a healthy & safe workplace creates a productive
workplace. So Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Stay Productive!
